In November of 2021 it was announced that the 1967 season 5 serial The Abominable Snowmen (which is missing 5 of the 6 original video recordings) was scheduled to be released in 2022 with the missing episodes animated. Many online retailers started to accept preorders at that time for DVD, Blu-ray and Limited Edition Blu-ray Steelbook formats.
At the time of the November 2021 announcement and commencement of preorders several of the top online retailers were showing an expected ship date of January 31, 2022 and more recently February 4 of 2022. As those dates have come and passed there have been two new updates of a possible release date.
