I highly doubt Jack was gonna appear in this, it was made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Master's first appearance if Jack was gonna appear it would have likely just been a cameo, anything more than that would have taken from the celebration of the Master.

That's not true though, I went to pre-order it the day it was announced and the date was TBA then too. It's likely they haven't or have only just started recording it due to Bonnie Langford's availability during the lockdown, she's not done any audios during lockdown so probably wasn't able to...

The lack of a release date when it was announced is why I've not pre-ordered it yet. They were likely just waiting for one of the actors to (safely) available to start recording it, hence no release date.
